Where Ordinary Suits Lose Warmth

Four failure points divers feel first: core heat loss, restricted movement, water flush, and worn-out contact zones.

Thermal lining inside the OUZO 9mm wetsuit

Heat escapes through the core.

Thermal chest and back lining helps hold warmth where cold hits hardest.

Stretch neoprene panel on the OUZO 9mm wetsuit

Bulk kills movement.

A thick suit should still let shoulders, hips, and knees work cleanly.

Waterproof zipper detail on the OUZO 9mm wetsuit

Flush ruins bottom time.

A better zipper and sealed entry reduce the cold-water rush through the torso.

Reinforced knee panel on the OUZO 9mm wetsuit

Knees wear first.

Rocky entries, ladders, and deck work punish the same panels every dive.

First 9mm that actually moves

I've owned three 9mm suits in the last decade. The OUZO is the first that doesn't feel like a 9mm on the surface - it's that stretchy. Three 40-minute dives in 9°C water and I was still warm at the chest. The knee reinforcement is a real upgrade over my last suit.

Thermal lining is the difference

The thermal lining is the differentiator. My old suit had 9mm of neoprene but no insulation on the core - I was cold in 20 minutes. The OUZO brushed lining holds heat in a way the spec sheet can't quite describe. Worth every euro.

YKK zipper is the real deal

YKK zipper is the real deal. Zero flush through the chest on my first dive. Sizing was true to the chart - I sized up one for layering and it was the right call. Cold water diving in the Atlantic in January - finally a suit that keeps up.

Common Questions

Answers before you ask.

What water temperature is the 9mm rated for?
5°C to 15°C. It's purpose-built for winter and cold-water diving - North Atlantic, North Sea, winter Mediterranean, kelp forests in low-visibility cold water. The brushed thermal core lining extends your bottom time significantly compared to standard 9mm suits without thermal panels.
How does it fit? Should I size up?
True to fit. If you're between sizes, or you plan to layer with a hooded thermal vest, size up one. The SCR super-stretch neoprene gives more give than standard 9mm - you'll notice the difference when donning and doffing.
Is this suitable for freediving and spearfishing?
Yes - 9mm is on the thick end for sustained surface work but works well for static cold-water freediving. For active freediving in milder water (above 18°C), consider a 5mm or 7mm instead.
How do I care for the suit?
Rinse with fresh water after every dive, dry in the shade, store flat or on a wide hanger. Avoid folding for long periods. Avoid contact with chlorine, sunscreen, and petroleum-based products on the neoprene.
What's covered under warranty?
Manufacturing defects in seams, zipper, and neoprene for 12 months from delivery. Normal wear-and-tear, abrasion damage from use, and UV degradation are not covered.
Do you ship outside the EU?
Yes - we ship worldwide. EU orders over €150 ship free. International shipping calculated at checkout.
